MISSION: An “all round empowered slum dweller “by 2030.
Arm of Hope Foundation is a registered NGO that operates in the slums of Kampala founded in February 2019. We look towards holistically empowered and transformed lives through education, practical and evangelism initiatives and community outreach programs in Uganda.
MISSION: An “all round empowered slum dweller “by 2030.
"To alleviate extreme poverty and facilitate lasting change in the most vulnerable families living in urban slums in Uganda."
1. Inclusiveness
We support families from a range of religious and ethnic backgrounds. We do not discriminate on
grounds of race, gender, religion or politics.
2. Community focused
In all we do, we are focused on and for the benefit of our communities while capacity building and
supporting our staff.
3. Community driven
We believe that the communities we support should drive the future of the organisation.
4. Respect.
We seek to treat each other and communities with respect at all times in that we value humanity.
Arm of Hope Foundation has spread out in a number of slums such as Kamwokya 20 families, Kyebando 20 families, kabowa 25 families, Mutundwe 10 families and Nsambya respectively. We have managed to help work on the drainage systems and addressing the water shortages issues. Arm of Hope Foundation has also supported one seminarian by contributing to a half of his school fees. We have continuously provided handouts in form of basic needs to the elderly and hard up families in the slums. These include but not limited to food, soap, sugar, medication, salt as we have from time to time documented on our Face book page ( Facebook page name: “Arm Of Hope Foundation”). AHF has also managed to impart some financial literacy skills to the slum dwellers in Mutundwe, a slum in Kampala. A VSLA has been set up thus VSLA development aiming at them being self-reliant. We also intend to impart some skills and income generating activities to the youth so as to make them self-reliant so that their lives change from dependence to self-reliance AHF has served the street children by inviting them for Lunch especially on days like Sundays, Easter and Christmas. Where we engage them in counselling, those who change are taken back to their families, others taken (back) to school, others are helped to begin up small businesses. And a few retained for further rehabilitation services.
